 energy in the word. Human beings,

 fish, butterflies need energy form
 there in the world without the Sun.
 The sun helps to give rain and rain
 water helps plants to grow, and plants
 give us food. Also, we get rain water
 for drinking, washing and a lot of
other activities. Electricity also
generated form water and it helps us
 to run industries and illuminate out
 houses. Therefore the Sun plays the
main role in this world.

The Mango Tree

The mango tree is a very important tree.

It grows in every garden. The matured

nuts are used for cooking as a curry. When

they are ripe, they are taken as a fruit. The raw

Mangoes are sour but when they are

ripe, the fruit tastes sweet. There are many types of

Mangoes. They are “Pol Amba, Kohu Amba, Gira

Amba”etc. The mango tree is very usefull

to both man and animals. People get its

wood for many purposes.

The parrot is a beautiful bird.  Its beak is red and its wings are green.
There is a red color line around its neck. The parrot eats fruits and grain as food.
 It lays eggs in hollows in trees. Parrots live in flocks. Some tamed parrots can talk.
 Children call them by its pet name‘peththappu’.
